The Mighty Mississippi

It's a mad dash from southern Kentucky all the way to our stay for the night, north of Saint Louis.  We are on the banks of the Mississippi River in a little town called Elsah, Illinois. All night, massive tugs push as many as 15 barges laden with coal and other national commodities slowly upriver toward eager consumers.  Paula has not seen the Mississippi River before.  She's not disappointed.  We'll dip our feet in tomorrow morning.
