Dawn Treaders

We paddled across Dale Hollow Lake in the evening.  But we decide that we want to see the lake when it's still.  Ray, the marina manager, says we can rent a slip but he doesn't have "canoe" in his book. We negotiate a rate.  $5 works for both of us. We tie up the canoe for the night. The local calendar says sunrise in this part of Kentucky happens at 5:22 AM so we set the clock for 4:45.  It's worth it.  We are all alone and listening to the night birds calling.

  1. Wow, this is a really nice vignette from your trip. I can just picture it perfectly. Ratty would be very proud.
