Memories

The WPA - set up during the FDR administration - has left it's mark down through the ages in Cove Creek, NC.  We stop by in a light drizzle in the parking lot of what was once the Cove Creek Elementary where I often waited for Nassar after school.  He went here through the 2nd grade.

Rosie was born in this house on the Cove Creek Road.  It's all grown up now and the people who live here are keeping it lively with a pottery shed and grape vines.  The tall pine in the front yard planted by Nassar continues to thrive.

We slip through this small country road - last glances at North Carolina for a while -  and continue West on highway 321 toward Tennessee.
