Crossing Kansas

We're searching wacky Americana.  It seems like we're close.  Here's the worlds largest ball of twine in Cawker City, KS.  Over 8 million feet of twine (8,083,640 to be precise) snarls it's way around this behemoth. It weighs 20,078 pounds.  Apparently there was a guy in Minnesota trying to catch up.  He spent 4 hours a day winding.  Finally he died.

  1. There's something so basically human about trying to have the most/tallest/smallest/fastest of something. I love that part of my species.
