Master Surgeons

Two great surgeons, Prabhakar Pendse (Pediatrics) and Piloo Cooper (ENT) - Grant Medical College, Maharashtra University Of Health Sciences, MUMBAI, India. They were classmates graduating in 1960. Neither is fully retired yet. Both express deep frustration at the corruption in Indian medical finance as they stand in what was once their study hall and now looks like a derelict medical museum filled with orts, parts and dust. It seems that much medical money is funneled toward expensive items like CRT machines significantly because there is more potential for skimming money off large ticket items. One machine would suffice but five are purchased while needed syringes go unordered.
