It's been on my bucket-list and today's the day to ride an elephant. They are using big, big animals at about 25 years old (elephants live to 100). There's a herd of 25 elephants to assist 50 of us. Each one has a beautifully hand-painted trunk and head. Kind, sleepy eyes glance from under long lashes. These elephants are very responsive. Ours, named Luxmi (same name as Prabhakar's mother) raises her trunk and sings a little note for us at request of Sajid the mahout (our elephant driver).
